Hands-on Training for High-Demand Careers

The Franklin County Technical School, in partnership with the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center, offers Career and Technical Initiative (CTI) programs designed to open doors to rewarding, high-demand careers right here in our community. These evening programs provide adults with hands-on, industry-relevant training in skilled trades, taught by experienced instructors in professional-grade shop spaces. Whether you’re starting a new career, re-entering the workforce, or expanding your skill set, CTI offers an accessible path to opportunity and advancement.

Thanks to funding from the Massachusetts Workforce Skills Cabinet, these classes are free to qualifying students who are underemployed or unemployed. Eligibility is based on income guidelines set by the Commonwealth Corporation and the Massachusetts Governor's office. For example, in Franklin County, individuals earning less than $48,500 annually may qualify. Accepted documentation to verify eligibility includes utility bills, government mail, or bank statements for residency verification; pay stubs, tax forms, or letters from employers for income verification; and proof of unemployment benefits or employment authorization documents.
