Holland Herzig joined the Franklin County Technical School vocational faculty in 2006.
After graduating from FCTS in plumbing in 1992, Holland worked in many aspects of the plumbing field before becoming a teacher. He was at M.J. Moran for 12 years, New England Heating & Cooling for two years, and did commercial construction for 12 years.
Holland has served as a firefighter with the Town of Colrain since 1988. This experience has developed his knowledge of water movement, and has given him skills working with people in different settings.
As a vocational teacher, Holland has led students in completing plumbing and heating installations on several house projects and other projects throughout the county for municipalities and nonprofit organizations.
Holland earned his Massachusetts vocational teaching license in 2012.

John Hicks joined the Franklin County Technical School vocational faculty in December 2003.
Prior to becoming an educator, John spent six years in the US Air Force as a mechanic, and also worked for several local companies as a plumber and an HVAC technician.
HJohn obtained his Massachusetts vocational teaching license in 2006. He has complete coursework at Westfield University, Springfield Technical Community College and Greenfield Community Colleges. He is a 1983 FCTS Plumbing Shop graduate.
What he enjoys most about teaching is helping his students master the skills needed to be successful in the plumbing and HVAC industries.
