Blacksmithing & Forging: Classes - Full!

In its third year! Taught by an area teacher and blacksmith who has taught these skills to boy scouts and other youth, you will create exciting things with this fun program. Students will learn the basics of forging including twisting, splitting, and riveting.

Cooking for Kids: Class is Full!

Safety in the kitchen will be taught. How to read recipes through hands-on cooking by preparing meals including homemade meatballs with pasta, preparing fresh season garden salads and hand churning homemade vanilla ice cream to name a few. Life-long skills will be learned.

Baking for Kids: Class is Full!

Students will learn about safety in the kitchen. How to read recipes through hands-on cooking making baked goods such as baked apple turnovers, cookies, cupcakes, and frosting. Life-long skills will be learned.

The National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) is an archery program developed to provide school students with exposure to a fun, alternative sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.

Hot Rodding: AM Class is Full! Space left in PM Class.

This fun, program is a spin-off of the successful "Classic Car" program. There will be Classic Cars to view and kids will get the opportunity to experience a ride in a Classic car. We will also get our hands on tools and disassemble car engines! See what it is like to build a Hot Rod! Participants will also bring home a small "Classic Car" art project.

Hair, Nails & Beauty Fun: 7/17 - AM Full! Space in other time slots.

Another favorite for TechConnect, learn to do nails and hair in our cosmetology salon, taught by licensed cosmetologists. Braiding, curling, styling, and up-dos. Nail care, polishing, and nail designs. So much fun!

Fun Computer Programming:

Learn how to program by making games and animations! We will be using Scratch, from MIT and python programming to make Interactive games. Make fish swim, create a hidden object game, and even your own flappy bird or space invader type game. To top it off, we will make a drone fly using Blockly programming! The sky is the limit!

Create Digital Comics:

Taught by the former Editor of Marvel Comics, this fun course allows your imagination and our technology to combine and create your very own digital comic book. Use your imagination.

Make Your Own Platform Game:

Kids will learn the basics of game and character design on a computer. This will lead to their creating a fully functioning online game using Gamefroot, an online cloud-based platform for making 2D games.

Expeditions: NEW!

Kids will travel within our local area to experience the natural, cultural, and industrial resources that many have not yet enjoyed. Each day begins with a meeting to plan the day. Appropriate footwear and a sense of adventure are the only requirements. (This is an AM & PM Class - $180 - ONLY 12 allowed in class.)

Rhythm, Rap & Rock: NEW!

This camp is for aspiring musicians and non-musicians alike. If you like music, this is for you! Here students will have the opportunity to learn to play the guitar, develop songwriting skills, play musical games, and listen to and appreciate different styles of music.

Painting Techniques: Class is Full!

Kids will explore different painting techniques and tools. Experiment with different styles and paintbrush alternatives. Students will complete one painting each day with the different styles learned.

Eagles Basics to Wrestling:

Led by a former FCTS wrestler and Veteran Coach. Kids will be introduced to the basic fundamentals of wrestling. Kids will learn how to control their movements from standing and sitting positions. Kids are able to work hard and gain confidence with physical sports while also playing games and having fun!

Basketball Camp: NEW! Week of 7/10 AM Class is Full! Spaces are left at other times.

Kids will learn the basic skills of basketball. Dribbling, passing proper shooting techniques, free throw shooting, playing offense & defense, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Most importantly, having fun!

Bell Wire Electrical: NEW! - Week of 7/10 Class is Full!

Led by an Electrical teacher from here at the school. Students will learn the basics of how electricity works in a circuit. They will learn how to read a tape measure, basic hand tools, and a beginner’s course in blueprint reading. They will see their work come alive through low-voltage bells and buttons that they connect.

Newly added this year! Students will learn the basics of major components of the horticulture industry including landscape design, floral design, and food and flower production. Taught by one of our own Landscaping teachers!
