FFA STATE CONVENTION RECAP and RESULTS:
We returned from Framingham where 43 of our students did an absolutely amazing job representing our school community and FFA chapter at the Massachusetts FFA State Convention. Gold competition results are as follows:

- Sophomore Team Demonstration - Third - Iris Gochinski and Kaelyn Mclean
Additionally, Savannah VonSchmidt represented our school in chapter showcase where she was able to speak to the convention about the collaborative projects our two agricultural programs work on together. Julia Dickinson served as the nominating committee chair and spent the convention helping to conduct interviews and slate the 2025-2026 State Officer team. Last but not least, Aiden Bailey class of ‘24 retired from his year of service as MA FFA State Vice President.
More important than the wonderful awards we got to bring back with us, we witnessed our very large group of students step up and display tremendous leadership and teamwork. The positive energy, hard work, enthusiasm and sportsmanship I witnessed this week give me tremendous optimism and filled me with pride. They gained invaluable leadership skills that will benefit our community as a whole. Please congratulate them!
We would like to also congratulate Julia Dickinson, Molly Howe, and Becca Skelton on receiving their Bay State Degree. This is the second highest degree of membership within the National FFA Organization (only below the American FFA degree) and requires incredible dedication, including:
1. 300 hours working in industry or conducting research in industry
2. 25 hours of community service
3. 10 demonstrations of parliamentary procedure
4. Speaking in front of a group for at least 6 minutes about FFA or an agricultural topic
5. Participation in at least 5 FFA activities above the chapter level
6. Regular participation in the planning and conduction of chapter events
This is no easy task to accomplish, and we are incredibly proud of them!
Thanks so much to everyone who is so supportive and accommodating to this effort. Admin, nurses, business office, maintenance, substitute teachers, parents and academic instructors who help make up missed assignments. We are sincerely grateful for the many hands that help these students experience a life changing event.
Sincerely,
Amanda, Sara and Kim
