Landscaping & Horticulture Students Participate in Source to the Sea Cleanup

Landscaping & Horticulture juniors and freshmen in the first explore group completed our annual community service field trip with First Light supporting the Source to Sea clean up effort today, October 22.

The Source to the Sea effort is an annual event that sends groups out along the 410 miles of the Connecticut River to clean up trash and debris.

Landscaping & Horticulture uses this opportunity to talk to students about soil erosion and water run off, and how trash being in this environment contributes to pollution of the river. All of the students did a great job today cleaning up two locations in Turners Falls and Erving.
