FCTS Hosted 3rd Annual Agricultural Fair on May 9

On Saturday, May 9th, the Franklin County Technical School chapter of FFA hosted its 3rd Annual Community Agricultural Fair.

The event was held at FCTS, 82 Industrial Blvd., Turners Falls, MA from 10 am-2 pm. This fully student-run event  promoted awareness of agricultural programs at the school and agricultural businesses throughout the community.

“The main focus of the Ag Fair is to highlight the agricultural roots of Franklin County and the programs we have at the school,” said Amanda Mattison, FCTS Landscaping & Horticulture instructor. “This is an opportunity to showcase Franklin County farms and agricultural vendors. We can show off what we do in the shops and the connection between that and the history of agriculture in Franklin County.”

The FFA Community Agricultural Fair featured a number of free events, including a petting zoo, face painting, tractor show and tractor pull, and other activities. There was food for purchase, as well as vendors and music.

The Connecticut Valley Pomona Grange will be selling Cow Plop Bingo tickets for $10 a square.
