On Saturday, May 9th, the Franklin County Technical School chapter of FFA will host its 3rd Annual Community Agricultural Fair.
The event will be held at FCTS, 82 Industrial Blvd., Turners Falls, MA from 10 am-2 pm. This fully student-run event is being held to promote the awareness of agricultural programs at the school and agricultural businesses throughout the community.
“The main focus of the Ag Fair is to highlight the agricultural roots of Franklin County and the programs we have at the school,” said Amanda Mattison, FCTS Landscaping & Horticulture instructor. “This is an opportunity to showcase Franklin County farms and agricultural vendors. We can show off what we do in the shops and the connection between that and the history of agriculture in Franklin County.”
The FFA Community Agricultural Fair will feature a number of free events, including a petting zoo, face painting, tractor show and tractor pull, and other activities. There will be food for purchase, as well as vendors and music.
Tractor pull participants can register at 7:30 a.m. The tractor pull will start shortly thereafter and continue most of the day.
The Connecticut Valley Pomona Grange will be selling Cow Plop Bingo tickets for $10 a square at the Ag Fair.
